About our Council
Gilroy, in Southern Santa Clara County, is named after John Gilroy, a Scottish pioneer, who arrived in California in 1814. He settled in the Santa Clara Valley and married Maria Clara Ortega.
The parish was organized in 1865 by Father Thomas J. Hudson. His successor, Reverend Patrick J. Hennessey joined with W.G. Fitzgerald and A.J. Kelly in organizing Gilroy Council No. 2469, instituted on April 22, 1923 by Past State Deputy David Supple.
The first officers were: Grand Knight Walter G. Fitzgerald, Deputy Grand Knight A.J. Kelley, Chancellor J.H. Hines, Warden W.L. Cullen, Recorder W.G. Hines, Financial Secretary H. Gurries, Inside Guard Beri Rice, Outside Guard Joseph M. Walsh, Lecturer P.L. Noll, Advocate J. Delcommun, Chaplain Reverend Patrick J. Hennesey.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
Our Council holds monthly business meetings the first Tuesday of each month.
Meeting is held from 7:00-8:00pm at Serra Cottage, located at 7980 Church Street in Gilroy.
MONTHLY SOCIALS
Our Council holds a monthly Social on the Third Tuesday of every month.
Event is held from 7:00-9:00 pm at Serra Cottage, located at 7980 Church Street in Gilroy.
It is a great place for an inexpensive meal and a great time for members, families and guests
