Faith In Action

2023 Centennial Celebration all Knights of Gilroy Council

As a practicing Catholic man at least 18 years of age, the Knights of Columbus may be just what you’ve been looking for. As a fraternal organization, we offer Catholic men the opportunity to fellowship with other Catholic men who share the same beliefs and Christian values. You can truly put your Faith in Action by joining our local council.

“In order for us to be able to love, we need to have faith, because faith is love in action and love in action is service. In order for us to be able to love, we have to see and touch. Faith in action through prayer, faith in action through service: each is the same thing, the same love, the same compassion.” ~ Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa (2016). “No Greater Love, Commemorative Edition”, p.32, New World Library

Founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. They intended to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members and their families. This mission is at the heart of what we do as a local council, even today.

Inspiring Faith-Filled Stories

The organization aims to help men, their families, and their parishes grow closer to Christ. Our programs and resources provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith.

We are Catholic men who lead, serve, protect, and defend. We desire to be better husbands, fathers, sons, neighbors, and role models. We put charity and community first, whether by giving out Coats for Kids, lending a hand in disaster relief efforts, supporting local pregnancy centers by donating ultrasound machines, or providing top-quality financial products.
